A truly exceptional and extremely rare high-jewellery wristwatch from the prestigious Parisian maison Mauboussin, crafted in solid 18k yellow gold by the renowned atelier CRISTOFOL frères. This workshop also produced gold watch cases and jewellery for Cartier, Hermès, Boucheron, and other high-end French maisons, ensuring the highest level of craftsmanship. The case reminds us of the highly collectable Breguet Empire from the 1940’s, with similar proportions and hand-screwed bars instead of push-pins. This is sign of uncompromising quality. The case is hand-engraved with ‘Mauboussin’ and the serial number, while the inside of the case and case back feature corresponding numbers ‘2’ and ‘9’. Even the inner lugs are stamped with matching serial and inventory numbers. These are elements which are very recognizable for high-end watches which came from Paris in this era.The dial is crafted in gold with vertical brushing in the center, changing to circular brushing at the edges toward the minute track. This creates a stunning play of light from different angles. The 12-3-6-9 layout is engraved with the utmost precision, highlighting the exceptional quality of this vintage Mauboussin watch. Powered by a manual-wind movement, the watch measures 31.5 x 39.5 mm, offering an elegant wrist presence that is both bold and refined.
